Open a hood on 01 Boxster S

Does anyone know where the release cable for a 01 Boxster s is???

The only way I know how is to jump the hood, by pulling out the + connector on the fuse box and connecting the - to part of the frame. This is in the operating manual. If your hood not opening is non-electrical than I have no clue and hopefully someone else will be able to chime in.

Should be behind the wheel liner in front of the right front tire.

If you are not the original owner look behind your tow hole plug on the front bumper first since many of us have relocated it to that spot while we had the bumper off of the car.

Search for "hood cable" for more info.

maybe that's what i found.

pulled out my passenger-side headlight assembly and there's a thin cable running under the pad the assembly sits in. i thought maybe it was for the front lid, but then thought - "no, that would mean i would have to pull out the light to pull the cable, and to pull out the light i would need to open the lid... infinite loop!"

so that's why you guys relocate it...

I need help too, PLEASE

Glad this thread was open...just what I needed.
Went to get the old '01 Boxster out for a nice sunny drive today and discovered the Battery was dead.
Not the first time after sitting with out the maintainer on it, but anyway, I got the other car, pulled out the emergency fuse (+) hooked the (-) the door hinge, had the key in the door just like I have done a couple of other times and to my horror, NOTHING happened when I pulled up on the hood switch.
I know that I have contact, because when I turn the key in the door to the right the horn honks, turn it again to the left, pull up on the hood switch and still NOTHING

Right now I am SOL. Worst case scenario, I don't even know how I would get the car out of the garage (tiptronic), if I had to take the car somewhere.

Could I find a trickle charger that has a cigar lighter plug and charge a dead battery enough to start the car???
