The CDN$ issue is a tricky one for both customers and Porsche. The USD has slid significantly. A couple of years ago it was trading at $1.57. Porsche Canada eventually rejigged their numbers when it fell to $1.42. The problem is the currency has been between $1.18 and $1.25 for a long time, so $1.42 looks very expensive - which is why the US cars look so cheap. So for the customer the question is do you think the currency will stay down and how long will it take Porche Canada to reprice? For Porsche Canada the issue is residuals on current leases and the value of cars on the lot. If they suddenly reprice down 10 or 15 % - that's alot to eat. All car manufactuers are facing this to some degree in Canada.

I see what you mean, re US car cheaper:

Porsche Boxster S (987) 53'100 USD -> source PORSCHE.COM/USA
Porsche Boxster S (987) 75'900 CHF -> source PORSCHE.COM/CH
Xrate 1$ = 1.18CHF
So the US Boxster would cost me ~62700CHF.... approx 20% cheaper!
It's crazy given these cars need to be shipped all the way to the US, we still pay a premium here + $5/gallon gas...

You will have to ask your local elected types why they feel the need to keep the cost of gas so high?
