Opinions Needed on Audio System!
 

Hey guys, so.. finally, after almost 13 years of abuse the Premium Bose system in my car is toast.

I have my new head unit already ( Valor ITS-703W) but Im looking to see what everyone else has been putting in their car speaker wise.

Im replacing all 6 speakers, the 5.25in door, 4in dash, and 1in dash tweeters and an amplifier.

Im just fishing for more information since convertibles are different than other cars, and choosing speakers for the boxster is a nightmare.

Well, first of all, I would strongly recommend replacing the 5 1/4's with 6 1/2's in the doors (not hard to do). Second, unless you shop for a good 3-way system, you're likely better off with a good 2-way system. I would consider MB Quart, Hertz (if you want some REALLY good stuff), Dynaudio (also excellent) and I'm sure there are others that aren't coming to mind.

If you want to really complete the project, adding a small sub to these cars yields a significant improvement in overall sound.
