Help with how to engage / disengage speed control icon

Somehow, my green speed control icon came up and the owner's manual says to press "A" which is the knob to reset the miles to zero. Pressing "A" by itself doesn't do anything for it... What exactly am I suppose to do to the knob to get it off the dash?

Thank you in advance. :ah:

Do you mean the cruise control light? (Sorry if I'm misunderstanding)

If so, push the button on the tip (end) of the cruise control stalk to turn off cruise.

That worked! I must have confused the item in the manual. I am still getting use to it being called speed control instead of cruise control.....LOL

I thought these cars had something that "dinged" when a set speed is met (e.g. 65 MPH). I am still figuring things out, but adding miles to the car everyday it doesn't rain!!!

thanks

It's called the speed gong, and you have to have the OBC functioning to have it.

It's a useless option, mainly because you can't hear it unless you're actually watching your speed and listening for it... if you're doing that, what do you need it for? Plus, it only 'gongs' once, it's not like it stays going until you drop below the threshold. Seems the engineers just wanted to load up the OBC with as many features as they could, useless or not. Too bad they didn't make it an ET clock instead.
