Shift level/knob upgrade to 911
 

I want to replace my 99 boxster's shifter to a 2002 911 shifter.

It appears to me that the 911 shift knob/lever/boot will fit my boxster with no modifications.

Can anyone verify this before I order the part?

I assume you have a manual transmission. The shifters for the 996 family of cars - 1999-2003, all fit the Boxster. But they have 6 speeds, and you have a '99 which is a 5 speed. The 996 shifter will fit your car but the shift pattern will be for a 6 speed. Jeff
