Replacement Tires

I need to replace my rear tires , 2006 987S.
OEM is Continental 265/40 ZR18.
The Porsche dealer is quoting $ 705 + labor for the tires . Also wants $ 170 for a brake fluid flush?

Any advice?

Anyone have any experience with Autosport Performance , Englewood NJ

I put Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics on my car. I got them from TireRack. They had the best price by far. It still cost me $1300 with labor. Great tires BTW.

Well i would like to chime in here, I have used PS2 from 2002 when I bought the car. I changed the rears every 6 months and the front every 9-12 months. A set of PS2 would run me @1400 without mount and balance.
I tired pirelli and hated them and went back to PS2.

well times are tough and I do not have so much disposable income, so I went for:
2 235/40ZR-18 Sumitomo HTR Z III XL In Stock $109.00 $218.00
2 275/35ZR-18 Sumitomo HTR Z III In Stock $179.00 $358.00

total cost 627 with shipping from tire rack.

I must say these tires grip, stick, sound, feel, wet traction, and corner the same as the PS2. I have four tires for the cost of 1 and1/2 rear PS2s.

PS I dont track the car, but I do drive aggressively

Just my thoughts

And they'll last 2x longer!

I have to agree that for the price I love my HTR ZIII's. Yeah they are not DotR's but I have a race car to feed race tires.

Not only were they cheap to buy but I also got them mounted and balanced for $60!

I was in about $1200 for wheels, tires mounted and balanced. I could have spent that just on replacement Conti's or PS2's or Bridgestones.

I'm on my 3'rd set of Kumho Exsta SPT's and still love them. Great ratings, very good wet traction, stick like glue, not too loud, 2 sets of rears to 1 set of fronts, and this Spring a full set cost me $560.00 on the car. BTW I drive fairly aggressively and still get 12k to a set of rears ( wear bar shows , they go ) Ed

Another vote for the Sumitmo HTR's, handle well, grippy and very reasonably priced. My mechanic however has tried out new Fusion tires and loved them and they were priced better. Will probably give them a try next set.

Shhhhhh, Please!

I have 3K on my HTR ZIII's and love them. They're quiet and traction is above and beyond my expectations. But, let's not let the whole world know about these tires. The next thing you know they'll be charging Michelin prices!
