Jake has pictures
and descriptions up of his rebuild process as he converted a 2.5 to 2.9 for Charles' wife's TIP equipped Boxster.

Again, thanks to Jake and Charles for these wonderful write-ups with pictures.
Why would Porsche build such a complex engine and then skimp on the components? You'd think they would have learned after the 356 GT 1600 twin cam monstrousity. I'll be out at Blackhawk Farms Raceway when Charles' wife has her debut with the new 2.9. |
LOVE Blackhawk!
Had Multo-FUN w/ my old Elan+2 at that track! JEALOUS here! |
Excellent writeup, sure makes me want one of Jakes 3.6L's.....
Ed  |
Thanks guys!! I am assembling another 3.2>>3.6 Big Bore as we speak and have been taking a ton of pics of it as well.. I don't have Charles here to take the pics for me, so that makes things more difficult..

Could they have made it any more difficult to install the wrist pins?
|
Not much.. This engine is a true test of will, patience and determination...
One mistake and you have lost a days worth of work, as many Porsche dealerships are finding out as they begin to tear the engines down and repair them.. |
