CEL 1128 & 1130

Hello Everyone

A few days ago my Check Engine Light came on, I stopped driving it, and today I took it over to Autozone and they read the codes for me, 1128 & 1130, the code reader did not recognize that it was a Porsche, but I'm sure thats normal.

Today the car drove perfectly fine, HOWEVER I do hear a "hiss".

Any help, guidance or other experiences with these codes would be greatly appreciated.

1128 - oxygen sensing, area 2 cylinders 1 - 3 - short to B+ - rich mixture threshhold

1130 - same, but cylinders 4 - 6

simultaneous onset would be suspicious. It would seem reasonable that there is a common cause.

I don't inow about those exact codes - but my car threw a check engine light and was hissing. it was a vacuum leak.

after i got it fixed and drove it a few hours - it drove much better. i had thought my car was losing power - after the vacuum leak was fixed - it ran much better.

there was a noticeable gaini n hp/torque after the leak was fixed.

my hissing noise sounde like an inner tube with a leak and then you rubbed water on it - that hissing/bubbling sound... at least that is how it sounded. total cost to repair at an indpenenent - parts/labor - $250.

hope that's what is it as it was a cheap/quick fix!

Your car is running lean and the DME is compensating but has reached it's rich threshold.

Possible causes:
**Intake air leak** (hissing sound)
Failed AOS
Bad gas cap/ oil fill cap
Bad MAF
