Chipping the car

Ok.. so i have seen a ton of threads on this topic but here is my question. I recently contact pes-tuning.com about getting a chip installed in my car. I contacted them explaining the mods I had done or going to do before getting the ecu flashed. The mods as follows: I have the Pedro mod done, also the Pedro air intake as well, and Maxspeed headers being installed when i get them. The following was what the company responded with:

Yes, that is the price. Our NA porsche files are the best on the market. We tune for several race teams. You will see around a 20hp and 20ft/lb increase with the software especially with the exhaust mods.

You think i could feel that much of increase? Like the 20ft/lb. Please let me know what you think

PS. The price is 695. That is like $34 a hp so seems not too bad.

If the increase is mainly above 5500 rpm will you use it?

http://chip2perform.com/porsche.html... that will answer the rpm questions and TQ... I am not trying to make a dramatic increase just enough so it doesn't feel like so sluggish off the line..

I am not famaliar with PES but I think an increase of 20/20 is possible but is probably a little optimistic. In researching on google I couldn't find anyone with a 986 who posted about a PES flash and actual performance gains.

PES price and performance promises are enticing but I personally would tone down my optimism

I suggest you try this...

No seriously save your $ and spend on stickier tires unless you feel like paying $1k for 4hp at the wheel.

If by "sluggish off the line" you mean acceleration from a dead stop, this mod won't help. It may hurt "stop light" performance unless you drop the clutch at high RPM. 0-60 is more affected by gearing and torque (engine size) than Horsepower. Again, unless you really abuse the clutch.
