986 wheels between years

Hi, I have a 97 986. Been offered original 17" alloy wheels from a 2001 986. Would these be the same offset as my current wheels?

All 986 wheels are swappable between all years unless they're 16"s then they don't fit on S models.

They will fit, but Porsche does not support using 18" or larger wheels on the '97 models. For the '98 MY, Porsche modified the rear structure, strengthening it, and now made 18's available for the first time.

18's will fit the '97, and several people are running them with apparently no ill effects, but Porsche specifically cautions against it.
