Need Carfax check & purchase advise

I have a few questions about a possible "deal".

I was planning on purchasing an '06 base in 6-9 months, when prices drop below $30k. I chose the '06 in the hopes of mitigating the IMS threat with the updated larger bearing.

Enter local car for sale: Black '05 S with new engine, installed Dec. '08. That should be the newest spec IMS bearing, but can that be confirmed by a build date? What are the odds it's still the older version? The new engine is really the only reason I'm considering the car. (and making an "S" affordable)

My other concern is fairly high mileage, 42000. I does have 19" sport designs, sport chrono, PASM, Xenon, but also 2 tone black/gray interior that I don't love. Thoughts on price.

Thanks,
Steve

Be patient.

There are a ton of Porsches for sale right now.

Don't compromise. You need to "love" it!

Always buy the "S". Adding HP's to these cars down the road is very costly, and very suspect of actual results & gains.
