Does the power steering pump have a vent hose?

I was checking the fluid level on my '98 Boxster and noticed a hose just hanging from the top of the unit. It's connected on the side of the filler neck just below the cap. I looked everywhere but cannot see if or where it's connected. I looked in the Bentley book but found no reference to it. I also look at the PDF parts pages at Pelican Parts. They show the hose but not where it connects.

Can anyone help?

Thanks, Bill

It is a vent hose and it doesn't connect to anything.

Thanks LB. Glad to know it's just a vent hose. :D

I've never owned a Porsche before and have only had this car a couple of months. I'm still learning about it.
