Steering issue

Hi all. Am pretty new to the Boxster and this forum. Bought a a 2001 S two months ago and love it. Am planning to have steering checked out though but wonder if any if you have words of wisdom - at times the steering feels as if it has a life of its own - it pulls to one side or the other and I need to correct it to keep the car straight. The cornering seems true and the car usually runs straight without any wheel shake or constant pulling to one side, so I don't think that it's an alignment or wheel balancing issue. It simply pulls one way or the other intermittently which is disconcerting - tends to happen more at lower speeds. Any ideas / advice? Thanks!

Perhaps it is a wheel balancing and an alignment....:-) I just had my alignment done yesterday after new tires and it was WAY OFF. Sometimes I would feel the car wander. Motobob

Thanks Motobob - it goes in next week to be checked out - I'm hoping it will be as simple as the alignement!
