HELP!! how to FLUSH the cooling system????

dang it.... just replaced the coolant with zerex g-05 after seeing it used here on a diy to find out later i should be using the havolin dex-cool... my question is how do i fully flush the system to get the zerex out... i know how to just open the drain and refill now i want to know how to flush it so i get it all out... thanks.

wait. Before you go through the trouble, did you check out this page?

is the zerex you got the extended life version? if so, I would think that's ok. basically, you want a coolant that's silicate and phosphate-free iirc.

otherwise, for flushing, I would just run a gallon or so of distilled water.

hopefully others will chime in about whether you even need to replace the zerex.

Short of having access to one of those cool BG Products machines that will do this for you, you're going to have to drain and fill a few times with water to get all the old coolant out, then just refill with the appropriate mix of coolant and distilled water.
