Paintless Dent Repair

Oh boy. I called a PDR guy on Monday and he came out and worked on our new BMW and the boxster too.

He removed a bunch of dents to the left and right of the roundel on the back trunk lid of the BMW (neither of us could figure out how it got five dents in that area of the car).

On the boxster, he took out two nasty door dings on the left rear fender plus some tiny ones on the wheel well and removed a crease that went from the intake vent to the wheel well on the right hand side.

I now feel like I bought a new BMW and my Porsche doesn't need a full tear down-quality paint job. I can live with it until this lousy economy turns around.

Total for both cars was $450. I could have negotiated him lower, but I decided not to so I could gripe all I wanted if necessary.

The deal with PDR is finding someone who has been doing it daily for a number of years so they do not screw up your paint. My guy has made a living doing it for the last 15 years.

It was a lot of fun to watch him work. Amazing really.

I just had some PDR done on my car. Three tiny little dings. I literally can't find where the dings were. Amazing stuff. I agree though. I wouldn't trust anyone to do this unless they've been doing it for a long time.

Yeah, I have a friend that's been doing pdr for over 20 years. Here in Kansas during the storm / hail season he's booked for months at a time. I've got a ding on my left rear wheel well area and one on the driver's side door. I just haven't had time to deal with them. Always go pdr instead of conventional body shop if you can.

Pdr

I had a PDR guy do the passenger side door on my black box, numerous little dings. It is now perfect! Best money, in my opinion that I have spent on the car to date. The only bad thing is that now the drivers side door looks like s**t! This guy too, is no rookie either, he has been taking care of all the high end car dealers in the area for years.
