HELP: Doors and Lights Not Working After Replacing Battery?

After replacing the car's battery, the remote door lock does not work anymore. When tried to manually lock with the key, it only locks the driver's side door. But it does lock with the central locking button from inside the car. What would be the problem do you think? Thanks for any suggestions.

Other problems I've found.

1, radio does not turn off when pulling the key out of ignition.

2, my aftermarket xenon main beams do not work anymore. But the city lights are fine.

By the way, the car has a Giac flash and has cat bypass pipes. It's an Australian model so only had one pair of cats instead two (like the US models), when I first replaced these cats the engine warning light did not come on and it has been fine ever since. Don't know if this info changes anything.

Appreciate any help guys.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch to me. Not related to the battery swap, just coincidental.

LB's right, sounds like an ignition problem. A new switch is cheap ($15 US) to see if we're right. Why the new battery? Weak or dead? Could that have caused some of the glitches your experiencing? If your battery was weak you think the fresh battery exposed a weakness in the switch?

I know, more questions than answers.

^^Thanks for the help guys. Think you guys maybe right, the ignition switch does feel a bit "funny", key gets stuck sometimes. I'll have it replaced and see what happens.

Battery was dead after coming back from a two week holiday. I know, I know, have learnt the lesson, will be getting one of those charger things. :)

One more newbie question, the car has a Giac ecu flash done, now the battery replacement wouldnt' have affected it would it?
