91 octane gas or 93 octane E10 ?
It looks like I have a choice between 91 octane gas, or 93 octane E10. What would you choose?
If I understand it right, the 91 has more energy. However, the E10 shouldn't pre-detonate as easily, which apparently lets the ECU advance timing for max power. I'm primarily interested in performance, but also problem avoidance. |
Go with what's recommended in your owners manual...always.

93 E10 is all we can get in WI, no issues after 75,000 miles on BP Premium. My car (when out west) runs like crap on 91.
