Thumbs up I just saw the 987

I just saw and sat in the new 987. All in all, it did not do it for me. Just seemed to fatten the car up which is not to my taste. Having said that, it is still a fine looking car.

I did like the new seats, did not like the remainder of the interior changes, esp the clock, ala Infiniti. UGH!

IMHO

I will drive one next week. I understand the new trans is from Japan and not Mercedes and that it shifts "less notchy" according to my service buddies.

Hold onto the older Boxes boys, they may be more valuable than you think!

I sat in and drove one almost two weeks ago. And I must say it was is must shorter and smoother shirf. Exhaust (on the S) sounds great at idle but even better let lose.
I personally like the new interior better than the 986. The 987 has that classic "Porsche look" to it. The rear sub looks and sounds great. The new button layout takes time to get use to but is easier to use. Took me some time to find the roof button....oh my, its by the hand break on the side. Location of the cup holders is nice/out of the way, and the glove box is a good addition.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 987? Does it refer to the 2005 Boxster?

The new Miata err I mean the new Boxster , has seats which are more comfortable than the 986 Boxster. Well this is the claim.
I think the seats in my S are the most comfortable I've ever sat in. So says my friend every time he's aboard.
