My spotless (inside & out) Arctic Silver 2000 base 2.7 w/74,000 mi gets comments:
" beautiful car" or " what year is that Porsche ?"

I've never had it mistaken for a Miata. A few people have asked me what my, "little blue convertible is?" and "who made it?" One of my friends thought it was an MR2.

Heh, I had the opposite problem of my mom pointing at Miata's and calling them Boxsters. They do have pretty similar body shapes, to the untrained eye.

Most of the time people mistake my Box for a 911, which is actually quite a insult if you ask me, I would never want to own a 911.

Well.........It's unlikely I ever will either but I have to say I'd take a GT3RS any day..

Never say never...I've owned numerous 911's over the past twenty five years and thought I'd never own a Boxster; until I started driving them on a track. My 911 is my track vehicle and I've driven virually every variant (including GT3RS's) as a DE instructor.

Drive a well prepped 911 and you'll be longing for one (the 996/997's are very forgiving and a blast to drive).

Well, it wouldn't be a bad thing to own one :P.

Just given the choice between that and a AMV8 or Audi R8, and the 911 starts to seem a bit tame.

It's the Mazda MX-5. Since 2006, that is the official model designation - Worldwide!

In the US from '89-'06 it was marketed as the Miata (meaning "reward" in Old High German), while ROW it was always the MX-5.

In Japan, it is referred to as the 'ɺ̠odosɯta in nihongo' simply meaning Mazda Roadster.

I thought a Miata was maybe a US only car,
But yes I do know what they are now, we get a lot of Jap imports but these are badged as Eunos roadsters.
Thanks guys you learn something every day!
