Alpine 9886 Question

I've installed an Alpine 9886 unit. Used the Metra 1787 harness. Everything works fine, except I cannot save settings. If I change the sound settings, time, date setup, etc, it works fine...until I pull the key out of the ignition. When I start up again all settings are back to default. This is a minor annoyance now, but I'd rather not have to reset the settings countless times a day. Is there a fuse that controls radio memory? Thanks in advance for replies.

With out knowing anythng about an Alpine 9886 unit.: One of the units wires need to be powered all the tme... not sure which one... this maintains the settings / memeory of the radio. Check the installation manual and backcheck your wiring.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I was told my problem is the yellow and red wires are crossed. The constant wire on the Alpine is yellow, whereas its red on the Metra harness. I have it connected yellow to yellow/ red to red.

Thanks again

Does the new radio "look" factory or stick out like an aftermarket?

Pictures always help. Just curious because I always like to see what other owners do to their cars at times.
