It could be the relay. In the rear relay panel in the trunk, relay #3 (top row, 3rd from the left) is the spoiler extention relay. Relay #9 (just below #3) is the spoiler retraction relay. Try swapping them and see if the problem doesn't reverse itself. If so, you need to replace the relay. Also, just pulling the relay could cause it to make contact because it developed some corrosion/dirt on one of the pins, or because it wasn't properly seated. Hope that fixes it. There are other possible causes, but the relay s/b eliminated 1st.
