Will 16" OEMs fit on an S?

I'm looking for some basic wheels to throw some winter tires on my '01 S.

Would rather stay on the road then go off-roading in Canadian winter conditions!

Came across a set of factory 16" rims in great condition at a great price.

BUT - I'm concerned with the bigger brakes on the S - if these things will fit??

Anyone know the answer??

Thanks!

No they will not fit, but I will trade you my rotors and calipers. :)

Unfortunately, 16" rims won't fit due to the larger calipers on the S. But I have been using my 17" rims with ContiWinterContacts, and have had no trouble. They do fine in light powder, packed snow, and plowed roads. And as with any non-studded tire they aren't great on solid ice. I am glad you decided to keep it running all year!

Thanks for the quick responses.

I appreciate all your offers for my S brakes - but maybe I'll stick with the current set up :-)

Just have to give up on those 16's and find some 17's now.

Cheers....

Your present wheels are stunning!

Can he add some spacers to make the 16's work since he has already bought the 16's. I had clearance issues with my 19 inch SSRs in the rear and adding 15 mm spacers solved the problem and improved the look from the rear at the same time.

Thanks Bruce Lee!! Coming from you, I really appreciate the comment.

Ya, Angman, that would really be cool if the spacers worked. Took me a while to find the 16s (as you know) and I really want a solution before the white stuff hits!
