Those of you riding, and others, i just picked up a sweet new lid

so exited to finally pick up a Schuberth Concept helmet
its really an art of a helmet.
it has quite a few cool features, first being able to convert into half a helmet as the pic i took shows, then, there is a drop down sliding shade for those sunny days, and there are vents all over the helmet, including one that can be controlled from the inside as well as outside ones, and the visor itself can be moved away from the helmet for more breathing as well as traditional up and down.
also, on the other side of the helmet, there is a drop down window with instructions on how to take it off if you are in accident and found unconscious (pretty neat)
and the locking mechanism is sweet, since i always had problems fastening the helmet on with the gloves, now its just snap in snap out hehe

when i fist saw these that Schumacher was testing for auto/motorcycle racing it caught my attention and i liked it, so finally now they are not over a grand to get, so i was able to get one from a gentlemen here locally that imported one but was wrong size for him and he sold it to me, so its new :)

here are 2 pics i took:

I use an HJC modular.... but if you want to see what a real modular is like, check out the Givi X-01.

Sadly, it is not available in the US (yet).

or a boxer roof V.
i kinda dont even care about the modular part for riding, just easier to put on.
but it weighs like nothing and is the quietest helmet EVER

Nice Helmet. The problem is, all helmets do not fit all heads and I can't fit a Schuberth. Good luck with it (and be sure to get a rider on your ins. to cover it!)

I got a new brain bucket a couple months ago from a friend visiting here from the UK. It's a Shark Evoline, IMHO the best Modular on the market today, though that GIVI does look nice too! The Evoline is not available here as it hasn't yet been submitted for DOT or Snell approval - but it is BSI (British Standards Institution), ACU (Auto-Cycle Union) and ECE 22.05-P (protective lower face cover) certified which all exceed both DOT and Snell standards.

My buddy's brother owns the UK distributorship for Shark, so he brought it over to allow me to try it's fit which it does very well. I got it for cost ($500USD vs $1200 (converted) retail) and paid no duty or S/H. If it hadn't fit, my friend would just have brought it back home.

It has an internal sunvisor, great venting, SS closures - very important as some, like the Nolan Modular (IIRC) have plastic closing mechanisms which have been reported to open during an impact. The coolest feature is how the chin bar reverses and moves to the back of the helmet allowing you to wear it as a very aerodynamic half-face helmet if you wanted to - most modulars aren't at all aerodynamic and if you try to wear them open above 20MPH, the head bobbles are neck-snapping. It also has a quick-close SS chin strap.

be careful on donorcycles!

I used to ride but gave it up - there are too many drunks, kids, andother bad drivers that are just a blink of an eyefrom wiping you out or turning you into a para/quad withno more mr happy functionality....

I have to admit though they sure are fun
