Wheel Offset Question
 
May sound a bit nieve....but is the higher the offset ie 58 the fuller it fills the arches or is it the lower number that fills them !

lowering the wheel offset pushes the wheels out. example: you have a 65mm offset. you add a 20mm spacer, pushing your wheels out by 20mm. your new offset is 45mm.

The higher the number, the more it will fit inside the wheel well.

Example, a 52mm offset will stick out past the fender edge compared to a wheel with a 58mm offset.

I have found this site to be of great help determining proper offsets www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp . It helped me fit 17" Boxster twists on my 1969 VW Beetle. I try and stay neutral with the offset I run because I plan to lower my '01 S and I don't want to roll the fenders.
