If the guy was guilty (and the jury said he was), I'm glad he was convicted. I can't imagine anyone being involved with dog fighting (or cock fighting for that matter). It's barbaric, inhumane, cruel, insensitive, and quite a few other not so nice things. Lock him up and throw away the key. Or better yet.. put him in a room with his own dogs and lock the door! there ya go. Good job Jeff. (I just "got" your name :D )

This was a rare case in that we had a video tape of the defendant in a dog fight. He was a handler and owner. It is a very brutal scene. The dogs fight each other to near death. THey fight and fight, then the handlers (my defendant), separate the dogs and let them attack each other once more. These poor dogs are so tired they can barely walk. I'm guessing it was the four women on the jury... had I been on the jury, I'd have been shedding tears too, just before I started plotting how to feed the dog fighting ring owner to a pack of rabid dogs.
