Aluminum lug nuts?
 

I'm putting studded 17mm rear wheel spacers on my 2003 S.
I've picked up aftermarket aluminum lug nuts from Pelican Part.I know that Porsche make magnisium lug nuts that will also work but they are more than twice the cost.

Has anyone experienced these aluminum lug nuts?
I'm concerned with galling and most importantly stripping and having a wheel come loose from aggressive cornering.

Just be sure to use anti-seize compound and torque them properly when you install them, and you'll be fine.

i share your concern. the factory steel pieces rust like h3ll; i bet the aluminum would fare a lot better from a corrosion standpoint. you can always etch them with alodine to prevent galling & pitting. use copious amounts of anti-sieze and be extra cautious about cross-threading.

Not sure what kind of driving you are doing Jake, but most tech inspectors for racing will want steel lug nuts that show how many threads have engaged.

I would think aluminum would be stronger than magnesium.

I'm curious, are you also putting lugs up front or is it just for the 17mm spacers?
