WOW! Great pictures and an even better car.

LoveBunny 07-08-2008 07:59 PM

wow, those are pics of your actual car? They look amazing!

Cloudsurfer 07-08-2008 08:45 PM

Somebody's been playing in the syke wall studio with some big lights.... looks great!

Patrick

944boy 07-08-2008 09:09 PM

Awesome shots! Nice car too!

But I have to ask, what kind of lights are you using? I only wish I had a studio that large.

hqduong 07-08-2008 09:12 PM

That is a very sweet ride. Eye catching! What kind of wax did you use?

super66 07-08-2008 10:36 PM

great pics.....great car! it looks really sleek....think it would look amazing if the vents were painted to match the black....gorgeous car tho....the side shot of you driving is amazing

FIG 07-09-2008 12:41 AM

Thanks to all for the replies ;) The car is hard to fault!

The upgrade from the 3.2 to the 3.4 is slight but noticable!
I'm finding it hard to decide which to listen to most....the amazing BOSE stereo, or the incredible sound of the sports exhaust :p

LoveBunny
- Yes that IS my actual car!

bmwm750
- Yes, my photographer has a studio designed for car photography!

944boy
- Not sure what lights he uses....but yes they are big! :p

hqduong
- No wax....Brand new car. Took the shots the day after taking delivery.

super66
- Driving shots were taken at approx 20kph :D

hqduong 07-09-2008 01:01 AM

Thanks for the reply! Very sweet car indeed! With cars like these, who needs a wife :-)

Have you considered a Clear Bra to protect her?

I bought my wife a clear bra, but she won't wear it outside...... :p

Gorgeous car, FIG.
I like the black grille idea, above.
I'm doing black Cayman grilles for mine.

FTD 07-09-2008 06:24 AM

that is a beeeyouutiful car. Gorgeous.

NickCats 07-09-2008 06:27 AM

FIG,

Beautiful car ! I've always wondered, when the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, is the shift pattern the same as cars with the steering wheel on the left ( for example, in a six speed, do the gears go 1, 3, 5 from left to right ) ?

Nick

mylamb 07-09-2008 07:46 AM

That is truly an awesome vehicle! Enjoy it! Black was my definitely my next choice & will be a strong contender for the next Pcar I purchase.

NickCats - I have only seen the overhead of a 350Z in RHD but yes, it's the same layout (1,3,5), so they shift higher as they move the lever toward them, rather than away like we do. It looks absolutely freaky - so glad I don't have to drive an RHD vehicle!

I raced a right drive vehicle with a buddy a couple of times. I actually liked it, once I got used to it. I'm right handed so my "good" hand never left the steering wheel.

Perfectlap 07-09-2008 08:12 AM

I will never understand how right handed people shift gears with their left hand.
I can barely open a can of Pepsi with my left hand!

If you switched to Coke, you'd do fine :D

FIG, you're driving my dream boxster... color combo and features list and everything. I'd just need that steering wheel on the other side.

Quick question: did you also get litronics (bi-xenon headlamps)?

by the way, what's it costing to fill up an Aussie tank in U.S. dollars these days?

You must have never been a musician! I played several woodwinds and then guitar, so using both hands is second nature. I actually do some manual dexterities, such a TIG welding better left handed. I believe I may concentrate more because its not the norm for me.

gmboxster 07-09-2008 12:25 PM

Those photos look like Porsche website production photos. Did you actually take those photos of your car ? If so, very well done !

tboyer 07-09-2008 01:35 PM

Sweet! Black is a great color on a Box! Love the shoes

Mantis 07-09-2008 03:49 PM

Just plain gorgeous vehicle and pixs. Thanks for sharing. How do you like the stares you are getting?

peakpro 07-09-2008 05:05 PM

very sharp..best of luck

TorpedoZone 07-09-2008 07:31 PM

Those photos are incredible! They put the Porsche brochure photos to shame. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see more!

Enjoy!

FIG, you need the chrome "S" tip or the RS60 tip. The rear shots would look much better (if that is even possible!) with those tips. The stock 987 tips suck. :)

Thanks for the suggestion.....

Not overly excited with either Tip????

FIG, the RS60 tip looks really good in person. It is a nice brushed stainless steel look.

The tip you are showing in the Cayman picture is the "Sport Tip". And I am not too crazy about that one either.

But the chrome "S" tip looks really good:

I am thinking about selling my chrome "S" tip and buying the RS60 tip this summer.

The stock OEM tip on your car dis-colors, and you can clearly see this in your pictures. That's why I think a different tip would have looked more crisp and have the proper color.

Oh, thanks for the clarification ;)

Agreed, the Chrome 'S' tip looks good! And yes my tip has dis-coloured.

I am going to look into the new tip....is there much to do to change over?

Cheers

TorpedoZone 07-11-2008 10:44 PM

Have you thought about a silver hood crest instead of gold? I like the way the black makes the silver wheels, side vents, roll bar, trunk emblem, even the lights run together. A silver emblem would look great.

bmussatti 07-12-2008 05:15 AM

FIG, to change the exhaust tip, all you need to do is loosen one bolt on the botton side of the tip's clamp.

Pilot2519j 07-12-2008 08:24 AM

Wow what pictures

The pictures out of this world! Poetry in motion. You can even see Porsche on the brake calipers while being driven.
Good luck with the car and enjoy it!
