Talking Just bought my Boxster

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that there is a new member on the board and I'm looking forward to learning from you. I bought a 2001 Boxster with only 41000 miles on it for 21k. Its one hell of an improvement over my 1998 Supercharged Miata.

I bought the car on eBay for a great guy in San Luis Obispo California. The nicest deal by far I have ever had on a car bar none. He even picked us up at the train station in a 7 series BMW. Talk about VIP treatment. Then I got to try it out on the freeway home. What a nice car.

I’ll post some pictures when I get the chance.

David

Dave,

Just wanted to say hi & welcome.
I don't now how your post escaped without comment for so long.

So did you take the 101 home or did you go for the straight line of highway 5?

Best of luck!

David, welcome.
BruceLee, after a 2 hr drive yesterday along skyline blvd (30-40 miles of road that sits atop fo the santa cruz mountains overlooking the ocean the whole way) with my 6-yr old (car nut) boy (porsche kids car seat)...beautiful sunny 70 degree day...I've concluded that anywhere's a good place to drive a boxster.
BTW, we concluded yesterday that people who own boxsters like to drive them since we passed a dispropotionately large number of boxster cruising the same stretch of road. And for good reason, these cars are a huge kick in the pants to drive.

Good luck with it scuby. Enjoy the long twisty drives next to the ocean that Calif highways are known for. You will really get to appreciate this car. The Boxster drives like a bat out of hell with a drive which can only be described as superlative. At the power band it gets freaky fast.
Vaya con Dios amigo and enjoy it you deserve it!

Third gear, top down, twisty roads...

...sometimes my girlfriend gets jealous. ;-)

Enjoy

Hehe, I also did a Skyline Blvd drive a couple of weeks ago. It's good for the soul. I love it when the sportbikes have to let me pass.

Unfortunately, the last 15 miles I got stuck behind traffic. I guess everybody was getting their Christmas tree somewhere up there.

But hows this for December weather...?
