It's not a new idea. Then consider that no one is doing it. Makes you skeptical. A major reason has to be that a normal superchager is less efficient than a turbocharger due to parasitic load on the engine. With an electric supercharger the load is far worse since you get 20% (guessing here) mechanical output versus the electric load on the charging system.

I think this technology is different. The SC doesn't draw power from the engine all the time, just when you hammer it. In that sense, it is more like a turbocharger.
