Leaky coolant reservoir

Has anyone found a way to fix or patch the leaky coolant reservoir without replacing it? I was quoted $1,000 to replace it by the shop! It just leaks a bit after driving in hot weather. Appreciate any advise.

Some have tried but they end up leaking again. Maybe try an independent shop that works on water cooled cars. Very common on the 986 and 996.

Unless you are under warranty, use an independent. My local Porsche dealership quoted $1,200+ to replace my reservoir but a local independent Porsche specialist did it for $540 - OEM parts, labor, everything.

Now he gets all my business. Are you listening Auto Gallery?

Is there a way I could get to the leak and apply a heavy duty sealer over the crack?
