who's got a power rear trunk?

Seems my 2000 S doesn't have a rear power trunk release. But I do have the button on my key head. Anyone know what's involved in adding this to my Boxster? I use the rear trunk a good deal and it would be nice not to have to open the door to release the trunk.

sounds like something is broken.

Did you check the door sill on the driver's side? There would be a pair of switches with graphics on each of the button. Or, check your manual.

You should be able to release the rear trunk on any Boxster model or year with the remote key.

yes but what he is trying to say is the same problem I have. its really just an early model design flaw. While the key is in the ignition and the drivers side door is closed, there is no easy way to pop ther rear trunk. You have two options...
1) open your door and pull the lever up to release ther rear trunk.(you cant with door closed)
2) remove your key from ther ignition and hit ther second button on ther key to remotly open it. They fixed this problem later on in 01 or 02...or was it 03? I know they fixed this with electronic buttons later on but in the 2000 and earlier there is no easy way to open ther rear compartment without a) opening your door or b)removing the key from the ignition and hitting ther button.
