Best answer before you spend thousands on exhaust, intake, headers, clutch, SSK, lighter wheels, supercharger or turbos ect is to do an engine swap.

If your engine is running good and in good shape, sell it- you can do a swap cheaper than a long list mods.

Why do you "need" to make it faster, is it for you or for racing?

If your drag racing the classic answer is that this is the wrong car for that. If your racing on a track improving your driving could help without spending any money (This is just an idea, I have never seen you drive, don't take offense).
Now there are only a few ways to get more HP out of a Boxster, and they can cost a lot. Desnorkling is a proven 5HP, then you can get a super charger I believe there about 5-7K, then new headers and exhaust might help. So since your looking at about $10k right there, your better off to just drop a new engine in for about the same price but you'll get more HP.
There is no easy way to add a lot of HP to these cars.

Man, the guy wants to know how to pick up some more power and he gets pretty rough treatment. If he's got the money to spend and wants to make it quicker I don't see anything wrong with that.

If your planing to keep your car for long term then mod it..

This is what I did with my 2000 Boxster S.
FVD exhaust
FVD headers
Ruf wheels, pedals, interior goodies.

I love my boxster and planing to keep it as long as I can.

What would the net cost be to sell your car and buy an S? On the used market, the difference is not that much. And besides the hp, torque, and speed increase, you get better brakes, exhaust, bigger wheels, better suspension and handling, etc.

To me, that seems like the best for you dollar if you are considering $5k plus in upgrades.
