Stupid hinge on mirror sun visor broke!

So the other day I was driving my box with the top down and something flew into my eye. I pulled over and used the mirror with the light in it that is located on the back of our sun visors. When I was done I closed the lid for the mirror and I guess I must have slammed it to hard because it just broke off at the right side of the hinge. It's a small plastic hole that goes around a plastic rod on each end. I tried super gluing the piece back on but after it dried I could not get the lid back on without breaking the small piece off again. Looks like the only way to get this stupid plastic lid as a part is to buy the ENTIRE DRIVER'S SIDE sun visor. I found one on e-bay for $90.00 plus shipping but don't really need the whole visor. I just want the lid for the mirror. Anyone else have this problem? Is there an easy way to fix this without buying the entire visor? I cannot find the lid by itself sold anyplace. :(

Let me call Oklahoman Foreign today and see what they have. Their one of the largest Porsche salvage yards in the country. I'll reply tonight.

I called Oklahoma Foriegn (405-794-0644) and they said they only sell them in pairs and you also get the sunvisor's not just the vanity mirror for $125. Hope this helps.

Thanks Nick! That illuminated one is what I need. Although I was able to fabricate the part that broke off out of some bondo and a plastic tube. So I will see if it works first before I spend any money. It's drying right now and I will sand it and paint it tomorrow. Hope it works.

I had the same thing happen to mine. I fixed it by drilling a small hole in the flap portion and super glued part of a finishing nail in the hole to replace the plastic arm that broke off. Total cost to fix .......... $0 ;)
