RMS problem in 987?

I read a lot about the RMS issues with the Boxster. Is this prevalent in the 987?

No infact, Porsche has a new seal I think it may be the forth generation of the RMS in the 987.

It even fixes the 986 as it made differently and is softer than the original seals. Also it is installed deeper in to the crank case.

We have had some 987 owners report RMS here on the forum.

As always, no data from Porsche so how can we know for sure?

PS-this is the third or fourth "seal" fix that Porsche has tried.

The 987 may be slightly less prone to RMS failure, but it is by NO means immune to the problem.
