What car is this? (from The Birds movie)

The classic thriller The Birds (Hitchcock) was on TCM last night.

I noticed an interesting looking car driven by the female lead.

Does anyone know what it is?

Here's a pic:

Had a nice exhaust sound to it on the soundtrack but it might have been dubbed in. It's a convertible [with a glass rear window!] and seats 4.

Birds

I can't really speak to the car although it looks like either a Nash or Austin, but I do live twenty miles from where The Birds was filmed, and can tell you that town has, in just the past few years, gone goofy over this movie. The old house still stands up on the hill, and looks the same. A new t-shirt is out and looks very cool indeed, and every year now they have a Tippy Headren (mispelled no doubt) day - last year she even showed up! I bet you that car was lent by a local and is still cruising Bolinas to this day.

Haha, I wondered the same thing after watching the movie about 6 months ago. I did some research and found that the car is probably an aston martin db2/4. I really doubt the sound it dubbed in.
