How much was your Boxster "Brand New"?
It's interesting to think what the actual cost that someone paid for my 2003 Box S was back in 02-03 and then compare that to what I paid for her last month. Unfortunately, I dont have the paperwork with the sticker price. So i dont have a clue what she was worth sitting on the new car lot.
So here's a thread to post your Year model and options with the total sticker price.
Here's mine if anyone knows the 2003 pricing and wouldnt mind calculating.
Brimech:
- 2003 Boxster S
- Lapis Blue (Metallic Paint)
- 6 Speed Manual
- Heated seats (Driving with the top down in 40 degrees isnt so bad )
- Headlight washers (Why? Its a Porsche, by law you must wash her once a week anyways.)
- Wind deflector (only middle piece.. were the side mesh inserts likely jacked?)
- Litronics (was this standard?)
- Boxster S II wheels (I'm guessing these were standard. I love them though.)
- PSM
- Interior and top match body color (blue)
- Porsche Mats
Grand Total $??,???.??

I do not believe LITronic, ( BI xenon) was standard in 2003. I actually notice even todays 08 models, xenon is 1000.00 option. And some 50,000 Boxsters on the lots are sometimes missing the option. What gives? I would not own one without the feature.

2004 base black on black on black 42,600
Porsche mats 95
Convenience plus package 5,705
18" Lt alloy Carrera Wheel 2,920
The original owner drove it out of the dealership for around $58,000
I bought it two years later for 35.5 plus taxes, which jacked it up to $38,010

I added up my option code a while back, and found out that my 1999 Ocean Blue Boxster was originally about $53k + dealer markup, tax, and licensing. So it was probably closer to about $56-60k new. (If you want to see the option code it is on my website in my signature.)
I paid less than half of that and the car only had 17k miles! Although I have added about $2500 in factory features to the car since getting it (hardtop, RTS, rear speakers, etc.)

I tried looking that up and didn't get specifics. But it includes Bose stereo, windscreen, and other comfort items, but not heated seats. Comfort items being heated side windows and such. But not a sport package with the MO30 sway bars. Maybe ToolPants, LilBastard or BruceLee can help here. Otherwise I can post the option codes and take it apart that way. Let me know if interested.

If you go to "Thanks Porsche!" which has been stickied. The parts guide has all the option codes, and I think it also has the difference packages listed.

Having bought my CPO 2005 Boxster S from the original dealer, I have the window sticker. My baby has the special silver-gray paint, 19" Carrera wheels, Nav, full leather, sport seats, Bose and the sticker price was $ 64,500.
The fella drove it 9,100 miles and then got transferred from L.A. to London.
I picked it up for $ 45,000 the day it hit the lot (asking $ 49,900) and got a 90,900 mile 4 year warranty.
The car is immaculate......and I love her very much.

I think Rick3000 is correct about the "sunglass case."
The previous owner of my car saved the window sticker. The total cost was $48,516.00. The major options were:
Arctic Silver Paint $805.00
Sport Package $2,110.00
17" Wheels with color crests $1,215.00
On-board computer $449.00
I later added a matching harrd top for $610, but the MSRP of the hard top was $2,295.00.
So the MSRP with hard top would have been $50,811.00.
Purchase Price $21,250.00 with 29,990 miles.

I bought my 2000 base Boxster the summer of 2006, it had 43K miles on it.
Arctic Silver
Full electric seats
PSM
cruise control
There were a few more options, but hose are the main ones I remember on the car, the brakes and tires were OK, but not great at time of purchase and it did not have its major service done yet. The back window did not have any holes in it, but it was faded and in bad shape, clutch was OK.
I paid 21K our the door from a dealership and they gave me 30 days to decide if I wanted to keep it. At the time they were crying like babies saying I was robbing them for getting it for that price.... they were good actors,
Ed

did you buy this at the euro warehouse place near 635/35?
if so, i looked at and test drove this car, had a PPI done, and chose not to buy it... would be happy to give you a couple details so you could do some preventative for the issues...
