OMG, what have I done to my baby.

I just realized I have done something really stupid. I took the convertible top off this weekend to replace the cracked plastic rear window on my 99 Boxster. The top was removed successfully without any problem, and the car left in the service mode.

For some strange temptation, I couldn't resist the super nice day for convertible driving. So guess what, I went ahead and lower the convertible piece WITHOUT the canvas piece., hoping to drive around a bit. Boy, am I stupid. The piece was lowered into the convertible bay OK, however the convertible light won't go off, and now I can't even raise the piece, and put it back to service mode. I didn't hear any strange sound, or anything like that. When I press the 'close' button on the dash, I can hear the motor cranks a little, then stop, seems like something is stuck or confused looking for canvas piece.

So please help, I just want to get the piece raised again, and put it to service mode. Please help.
