That course seemed to go on forever!

How did you do?

Fun!
Looked more like a mini-road course with all those cones!
How fortunate you are to have such a big site to run on.

No autocross around here in months, and it's still a month off

Here are my videos from the SCCA Solo nationals 2007, East course:

http://teamwtf.org/content/view/325/63/

Think the second run was 4th or 5th fastest on the day.

I'm never seen a course lined with so many cones. I'm used to seeing about one/tenth as many and having to find your way around. Thats like following the yellow brick road.

Pretty tight course, did you ever make it out of first gear? Autocrosses my newly acquired 2000 Boxster in Gainsville, FL today and found 1st gear to be very long and usable and 2nd gear to be to tall for most parts of the course.

That actually looks like a wide course. It looks like a fast course too sounded like you can get it pretty high in 2nd gear. Our courses in the PCA GGR reagion has been a little tighter since our course designers tend to be 914 guys and those things are made for tight courses, either way still alot of fun and very addictive. If your new in Autocross you should get the book "The secrets of solo racing" very informative and can really help you understand what your car is doing and will do.

Ah, ran with the Buccaneer Region SCCA eh? Good bunch of folks.
I was up at the Gainesville road course a little over a week ago and brought the Boxster out there for the first time (I usually run the miata). Had it almost to the top of third gear going down the back straight!

Not my car but here is a vid from my friends miata of the configuration we ran:

That's Gainsville but I don't think that was an SCCA autocross, ours keep the speeds much lower with lots of cones and slaloms. Looks fun though.

Good book, read it a years ago. Our sites must just be larger or maybe it just looks tighter than it was in the video. Either way looked fun, but lots of 90 deg turns and the driving line was pretty narrow.

Your are correct, not an SCCA event. It was with the Martin Sports Car Club (based out of Orlando), a local private club. We run Gainesville twice a year in what we call our Mini-Prix. It's a chance to put away most of the cones and run a more open, faster course... Something we cannot do at our home site. We should be up there again in the Fall.

Give me a heads up when you do it in the fall, I live in South Georgia and autocross at Gainsville all the time. Would love to run with out all those pesky cones.
