Tire Problem Solved - Thanks!!!

Last summer I ordered F1s (the GS-D3s; not the all-seasons) for my Box which has 17" wheels. The rears came in, but I was told there was a delay in getting the tires for the front. I had the rears installed because they were in worse shape than the front, but then the F1s for the front never arrived. In fact, they're still not available in the stock size (205/50/17). What to do?

I found the answer on the forum. Goodyear is still making the 225/45/17s and I've ordered a pair of those for the front. I gather that will reduce my understeer, so I'll want to find a big, paved area to get a feel for them. But I really wanted the F1s. They have a great rating for wet traction and living in the northwest (north of Seattle), that was important to me.

So, to the host and members of the forum - thanks for yet another solution!

Another solution - get 18's! I just put on a new set of F1 GS-D3's, 265/35's in the rear and 225/40's up front, both sizes still available. Awesome tire.
