Where's the color code on a data plate?

A dealer 8hrs drive from me has a Boxster but I can't I.D. the color from photos...and he doesn't have a clue. I was thinking that it must be on a data plate, no?

Yes, all the colors and options are under your front hood.

Look for a piece of paper stuck on there with weird 3 letter combinations.

Then go here: http://www.986faq.com/4-0/default.asp for your cryptic code reader.

Scott: Sorry to bother, but could you be specific where to look. (I've never has a chance to look under there...) I'll be asking a used car salesman, at long distance, to 'do something' and I have to be able to be quite direct. Thanks.

Okay sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Under the front hood you will see a paper label with codes that look like the website I sent you.

It will be obvious when he looks, it's a piece of paper.

I'm repeating a post in the FS forum, but this is a great place to enter those code numbers:

Sorry M-i-c-k-e-y for asking you to repeat what you just said. I somehow could not grasp 'under the hood'...that is 'till I got a look under a hood. I had a brain freeze on the...would you call it in this case a: firewall? Read his lips - he said: "Under the Hood."
