for those who wanted pics of inside of litronics painted black...
here it is. headlight is busted and not sealed, so just pushed it in there and took a pic
i think this looks way better than stock http://i27.tinypic.com/208ya9i.jpg |
i like.. i was wanting to do mine in body color (seal grey) like c6's
|
i dunno man, it already looks gray on the inside, i dont think its worth messing around for a slight shade...maybe im wrong.

DJ,
The lights look good. Did you paint the insides of the fog light also or just the main beam? This is on my short list of mods. |
Nice! I griped a while ago about how the turn signal portion of the litronics is too dark compared to the rest of the light. Darkening the rest of the light to black is the exact opposite of what i wanted, but it makes the whole thing uniform and I think it looks great! Awesome idea for darker cars.

Gary, once you open the lights its all held in there together with a few screws, and once you tart unscrewing thigs around you can paint as much as you want, its pretty much just there to hide what is underneath, all the reflective stuff is left in the housing once you remove the main part. and then there are these gunmetal pieces underneath, as the part tht you will paint is clear/seetrough

I like it a lot.
I did this mod on my tundra. The only difference is that brand new toyota lights are 400 dollars, brand new litronics are 2000, so I chickened out for the porsche. |
dude! Don't tell me u freaken broke ur lit lense in the process?!?!?
|
Djomlas,
First you get me fixated on deambering my side lights and now this? Until I found this forum, I did not even notice that the side lights were amber. Afterwards, I could not help but notice how out of place they looked (IMO). When I changed my side lights to clear, my wife laughed her @$$ off. She, like other women, could not understand why I would replace them for such a little visual change. As soon as I can convince my wife... new wheels and sport exhaust is going in. I have the Lit headlights already... but now I have to seriously consider painting them black..... man.... you have to stop. Undue influence... not... good... for... me.... must... make.... up... my... own.... mind. |
Carlos,
the light was already broken, has nothing to do with this mod :) hjkim550, hey man, u gotta do what u gotta do hahah, tell your wife to some and sign up on here and she can vent heheh i will be painting both of my litronics once it gets warm enough to paint, so ill post pics of that once its done. if anyone would maybe want a DIY...that could be arranged as well  |
DIY would be great!!! I think my black car would benefit.
|

when all said and done, i actually got mine for free plus some $ :) |
Hey DJ, did you ever get to do this mod yet? I took a swing at it tonight, and the glue on these things is tough as heck. I baked my light for 20 minutes at 250 and they still would not budge.
I also found online a man in England who tried it, and broke his lense. Let me know how it goes on your end, I really don't want to break these things, but while the tail lights are off to be smoked, I want to black out the front. |
