Custom Exhaust causing engine light to go off?
Hey! So im starting to believe that the Engine Check Light has been caused by my custom magnaflow exhaust. Anyone know if this can be true? if so anyway i can turn it off? I never touched the cats, only the mufflers. Thanks

i doubt its from the Exhaust, go get it scanned and see what the codes are.
 |
+1 on not the exhuast, Check your codes first then lets us know what it says.

What does your custom exhaust consist of? If cat back only then it should not affect CEL.
did you recently refuel your car? many CEL lights is triggered by the gas cap not being put back on tight enough otherwise get the fault code read and go from there. |
Im going to go to Autozone and get it checked probably on Wednesday so ill get back to you guys with the code. THANKS!!

Dang Four Codes!!!
WOW i got it checked with the obII sensor it came out with four codes
Here they are: p1126 p1128 p1130 p1133 CAN ANYONE HELP! THANKS !! |
p1128 and p1130 are O2 Sensor codes if I remember right, just google the others but I think they are also o2 sensor. Check to make sure they are all hooked up, I doubt they would all crap out simultaneously.
Also, you can get a good cheapo OBDII reader from Harbor Freight for $50, worth it! |
Don't know what year you have but for me the 1128 and 1130 were vacuum leak codes that I think were related to a bad oil filler tube. I have a 2001 base model.

Exhaust
I got a custom MagnaFlow Exhaust, so do you think the back pressure is causing the o2 sensors to read errors???
