2001 Boxster or 2003 Boxster

Hi Guys, do any of you have any idea what the differences between the 2001 and 2003 Boxsters are?

Posting this question for a friend that is considering purchasing a 2003 boxster, I have an '01.....

There are a few things different.
1. Rear glass window on 03
2. Wider more cool looking spoiler on 03 than 01
3. Slightly more HP & TRQ
4. Small glove box under passenger side dash

I'm sure there are other improvements but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.

03 Boxster:
fiber-optic audio bus ==> NO simple DYI iPod connection
Variocam plus

if i had the choice, i'd go for the 2003

03 has updated suspension, clear tails & front headlights (no amber)

also has different center gauge with more OBC detail in dot matrix i believe...

I would add that the front and rear are different. 01's have a more rounded underside on both the front and rear. 03's have more lines/breaks for lack of a better word in the front and rear bumpers.

I think 01's have a glossy finish on the switch gear. 03's have matte finish.

Not sure that the power numbers are any different.

The glass rear window is a big deal to me. Other features/improvements are bonus and very nice. But the choice of glass over plastic is a decision maker IMO

that was a big deal to me... but i ended up going with the 01... with plastic... and don't regret it in the least... the price savings was substantial and the difference in that window truly isn't IMO
