Part no.?

I tried searching in the PET but still couldn't find the part no or the part. I removed the part from the car and there isn't a part no stamped on it.

Anyone know what it is? It's located just bellow the clamshell and is visible when the rear trunk is open. It's not crucial but it's just one of those parts that I want to replace cause it looks old and worn.

It's either a henweight or a rubber bumper for the rear clamshell to close against, for proper seating and aligement.

Can you clean it up with a good vinyl/rubber protectant like Vinylex?

I don't even think I want to clean it,it's so darn gunked up. I've noticed when I wash the car and open the rear trunk to clean up that part collects a lot of water, which probably explains why it looks like it does.

It's just a rubber grommet. Either take it to the dealer parts counter, maybe a few bucks. Or, measure it and check out these guys - http://www.gtrestoration.com/cart/list/category/Engine

They're likely to have what you need.
