Naive PPI question

Please accuse the rather naive question...

I found a boxster I am interested in at a mercedes dealer. It has about 18 mths of warranty left.

How would I go about the PPI process with them.

Do I bring someone along with me? Or am I allowed to bring it someplace?

Any other suggestions.

TIA

You would need to inquire if they will allow a PPI. If they are only a Mercedes dealer, they may agree. If they also sell Porsches, at another location, you will get the "our mechanics have looked over the car thoroughly" BS. Either way, they may or may not be inclined to allow a PPI (there is no requirement that they must allow one) as they are likely looking for the quick, hassle-free sell.

That said, there is no reason why you couldn't bring a more Boxster knowledgeable "friend" along with you when you go look at the car.

And, well, no one is MAKING you buy THIS boxster. If you feel they are hiding something, walk away. There have been over 200,000 Boxsters produced.. This one would have to be pretty special to think its the only one worth buying.
