How do you remove the air box?

[Cross posted from Renntech]

Hello all,
As I pull out parts for mods/replacements, I had tried to remove the air box this weekend and was unable to get it out. Is there a special trick to it?

This all started when I needed to remove the MAF and the screws were so rusted that one snapped inside and I had to hack it apart. I was thinking about installing a cold air intake instead so how the heck do you get the old one out?
Thanks,
Chris

Here's dj's DIY:
intake install step by step with pics and video

I'm sure there must be an easier way, but here's one way:
New Stuff, lol

And here's some other useful info:
Evo intake labor????

Maybe dj can chime in to help out?? I'm interested to see what he will say as well. I was actually looking at this info when I saw your post. I'm looking into doing this as well and trying to gauge how the diy would be.

I was never planning on putting the OEM box back on so I just used some large snips and just hacked it out. The plastic is brittle so just broke off in chunks. Took about five minutes.

I'm with Steve...could have cared less about the factory air box and just took it out in pieces. Figured it would just lay around in my garage until I eventually threw it out anyway.

But that Evo sound...intoxicating!
