Dyno Results for Modded 986's

Please post your dyno results and your modifications. Thanks

There have been many many dyno sheets posted on the forum.

What sort of mods are you thinking of?
What 986 do you have? 2.5, 2.7, 3.2

A little info in what you are looking for will open a windfall of information.

I have attached my baseline , supercharged, and turbo charged dyno.
2.5 engine with over 100k miles on all of the dyno runs.
There are intake mods and muffler mods on all 3 runs.
The SC and Turbo mods have headers and custom programing in addition to the forced induction.

Hope this helps.

Hey Gary,
Dyno results look impressive, but could you clarify your legend a bit more (re: two different colors - light & dark)? Is it that there are three sets (baseline, supercharged, and turbocharged) of two runs apiece?

Thanks in advance.

Gary,I pulled 209hp and 172 tq on IA's dyno with evo intake, headers and muffler. This is a 2.7 with 22,000 miles. My question is how did you only pull 200hp and 169tq on a 2.5 with IA's supercharger?

I dont know and no one else does either.
At one time I thought there was a rag in the intake but after some research I learned that was not the case. It was a clear intake and these dyno results are from a dyno shop in Baton Rouge, they are affiliated with no one in the Porsche tuner world.

I have been having trouble loading up images, so I could not post the graph. But I am getting 204 hp and 175 ft lbs of torque on my 2.7L 2000 Boxster from a dynojet dyno.

Mods include: headers, 100-cell cats, Dansk Sport muffler, TTP intake, Autothority ECU tune, and maybe the lightweight flywheel. The last tweek of the ECU that was done gave a modest increase in hp, but about 7 ft lbs of torque, and I sure seem to be able to feel that small torque increase...

At the bottom of this link is a copy of one of my earlier dyno runs. I was especially pleased by the flat torque curve.

Is it possible that Gary's chart is showing ATW power and Rule's is ATC

The bottom of Rule's chart says engine power and while Gary's does not specify, all of his 's #'s look low if they were ATC but fairly close if taken at the wheels...

2.5 @ 201hp - 20% = 160.80 which is close to his 161.30 reading
2.5(sc)@ 250hp - 20% = 200.00
2.5(tc)@ 280hp - 20% = 224.00

I am just guessing on the SC and TC numbers as well as the power % drop.... :)

Anyone know of a good company in Atlanta to do a dyno-run? If so, I'll get one done of my 3.4 and post it.

My dynos are at the wheel numbers.

And realize I am only running the 2.5 engine car.
I would love to see the dyno of a 3.4 car. I think your power and tq from a 3.4 will be better than mine.

Keep us up to date.

I think its a 15% loss not 20%.
