HID conversion

I am about to upgrade my halogens with some HID's. Has anybody upgraded their fog lights as well? Where did you place your ballasts?

Gary in BR 01-06-2008 10:33 AM

I think converting the fogs to HIDs can be done.

I have an HID kit for my main beams and mounted the ballest boxes behind my carpet in the front trunk. I think there is plenty of space for two ballast there.

Good luck.
And please post pictures.

They have a slim version of the ballast now, wish I knew about them before I did mine. Suppose to be only .5" thick compared to the old type which is 1.5" thick. Here is an example.

Don't forget to get the led bulb for the parking light. Someone suggested in a different HID conversion post. I got some and they made a big difference.

I was going to try these bulb for my fog lights. LED Daytime Running Lamp (DRL)

What do you guys think of the H7 (DRL)? Wonder how bright they will be.

That ad almost makes it sound as if they are selling the entire kit for $47 (two bulbs and 2 ballasts). Very misleading.

"Included in the packaged:

2 HID Bulbs
2 Ballasts
1 User Manual and Installation diagram"

Check out this thread on Renntech. I'm tempted to get them myself

They are selling the entire kit for $47, although in actuality costing you around $100 with shipping (which is not much cheaper than many kits currently available).

That's the way Ebay seller pay less fees. I think they have to pay a certain % of the sale price excluding shipping. So they make more money by selling it for less and charing more for shipping.

If you do a search on Slim HID kit, they're all about the same price. You get the complete kit.
