HID conversion
I am about to upgrade my halogens with some HID's. Has anybody upgraded their fog lights as well? Where did you place your ballasts?

I think converting the fogs to HIDs can be done.
I have an HID kit for my main beams and mounted the ballest boxes behind my carpet in the front trunk. I think there is plenty of space for two ballast there. Good luck. And please post pictures. |
They have a slim version of the ballast now, wish I knew about them before I did mine. Suppose to be only .5" thick compared to the old type which is 1.5" thick. Here is an example.

Someone suggested in a different HID conversion post. I got some and they made a big difference. http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html I was going to try these bulb for my fog lights. That ad almost makes it sound as if they are selling the entire kit for $47 (two bulbs and 2 ballasts). Very misleading.

Check out this thread on Renntech. I'm tempted to get them myself

That's the way Ebay seller pay less fees. I think they have to pay a certain % of the sale price excluding shipping. So they make more money by selling it for less and charing more for shipping.
If you do a search on Slim HID kit, they're all about the same price. You get the complete kit. Jay |
