Blue smoke

So i was just leaving my parents house and there was a LOT of blue smoke that came out. It was a TON of smoke so this kinda worries me. I checked for oil to see for any leaks because as far as i know the smoke means oil burning but i didn't see anything unusual...I'm not gonna drive it even though the smoke cleared out in about 3-4 mins because i don't want to blow out the engine and im not sure what it is yet.
Could this be due to worn out piston rings? I'm gonna investigate more in the morning.
Has anyone had this happen to them or know what it is?

Thanks in advance

This happens to me about 3 or 2 times a year, Its what i call an occasional "gurp" of oil and/or oil sudds from the A/O separator, You might have an out dated unit. Theres be more than afew superseded revisions done to the A/O seperator since the boxster was introduced.

If your A/O is old and faulty, you can get a new current one for around $85 bucks from suncoastporsche.com, If you order one, dont forget to purchase the updated A/O tube as well and a bellows tube (accordian tube).

The accordion tube should included with the oil separator. I talked to Jeff @ Sunset about oil separators and he said people are ordering the 'J' shaped tube that connects to the throttle body when they really don't need it. Was that what you were thinking of CJ?
