How do the mesh inserts block your view? Unless you're 4ft tall and have the seats all the way forward the seat headrests fill 95% of the space within the roll bar. Personally I think the car looks better with them fitted, even if they don't actually do much to stop wind (I haven't driven without them so I can't confirm their non-effect). I'm not having a go here, so don't get me wrong. At 5' 9" I drive with both seats fully rearward so I have no experience of the mesh inserts blocking the view.
